Arielle Galler Rabinowitz (b.1991), a pianist and composer, is in her third year of the Harvard University/ New England Conservatory program combined AB/MM program in Music Composition. Arielle has been composing and improvising since the age of two and, at age 10, began formal studies in composition with Alla Elana Cohen at the New England Conservatory of Music. She currently studies with Dr. Kati Agocs, New England Conservatory and Alla Elana Cohen, Berklee College of Music, and was a student of Professor Robert Beaser, Julliard School of Music. Arielle is a five-time finalist in ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer’s Awards competition and received an Honorable Mention for Sonata in G Major. She was the overall first place winner of the international Karen Sokolof Javitch Emerging Composer Competition in Omaha, NE. She is a 2013 New York Art Ensemble Honorable Mention winner, a Wagner College Composition Competition Winner, New York Art Ensemble Emerging Composer, and four-time Pikes Peak Competition winner. Arielle was selected to participate in the Tanglewood Institute Young Artist Composition Program, Lenox, MA in 2008 and the European American Music Alliance Summer Program in Paris, France in 2012. Her work has been performed by the Callithumpian Consort, the International Cat Murr Composer’s Society, Sokolof Competition Winner’s Concert in Omaha, NE, the Harvard Composers Association Concerts, Harvard University’s Lowell House and Paine Hall, New England Conservatory (Tuesday Night New Music series, Festival for Contemporary Music and the 100th Birthday celebration of Jordan Hall) and in master classes with Yehudi Wyner, Chen Yi, the Ethel Quartet, Michael Gandolfi and Malcolm Peyton, Nico Muhly, Sebastian Currier, William Bolcom and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. Arielle studies piano with Hen-Jing Park at Harvard and performs as a duo pianist with her twin sister, Danielle, also a composer. She is a board member of the Harvard Composer’s Association and member of the Radcliffe Choral Society. Arielle was born in Boston, MA, and currently lives in Cambridge, MA.
